Small screen seems ‘the place’ for Silver screen celebrities. More and more celebrities are making way to the small screen. After Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit, it’s Anil Kapoor.

Anil Kapoor will bring with him a thriller and spy show which will be aired from 4th October.

On Thursday, while announcing his show, Anil Kapoor said, “I can’t tell you how nervous I am today. But as we are here to announce, the show  ‘24’ will be on air from Oct 4.”

Anil Kapoor further said, “I have had a lot of peaks in my career, but there are certain moments that you want to soak in and this is that moment. I feel this is the greatest moment of my life.”

At the press conference, the entire crew of the show ‘24’ were present. The prominent names from the show are, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Tisca Chopra, and Mandira Bedi.

“The show will be aired on colors channel. We thought weekend slot should be good. All the working people can come home and watch it. It was a strategy to get both Salman Khan (as ‘Bigg Boss 7’ host) and Anil Kapoor back to back.” said Raj Nayak, chief executive of the channel airing the show.

‘24’ is a drama series based on the American drama series with the same name. The series is directed by Abhinay Deo and is produced by Anil Kapoor. Anil Kapoor will play the same role as Jack Bauer played in the original series. This is going to be the first season of the series.

The ambitious project went on floor in February 2013. In the serial, Anil Kapoor will be called Jai Singh Rathode. He will be on a mission to wipe out the operation of a terrorist gang who wants to kill a promising prime ministerial candidate. For     this task, Jai Singh will have only 24 hours. The title of the show is derived from the 24 hours that the lead character has.

Earlier, Anil Kapoor has also played a role in the eighth season of the original ‘24’. From there, he got this idea to bring the series to India. A blogger who has seen the trailer says, “I quite like it. Though it is a remake, it doesn’t feel like a blatant copy. Plus I’m also happy with the cast and Anil looks his part.”
